The 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 teams compete in the Greater Eastside Lacrosse League, with Saturday games both on and off the island from March through May. The season kicks off in February with practices and wraps up with an exciting end-of-season tournament in early June!
Practice information will be provided closer to the start of the season, once field availability is confirmed. We’re looking forward to another fantastic year of lacrosse!
This is an introductory skills program. There are no league games. To have fun and develop basic skills in catching, throwing and retrieving ground balls. Coaches will help players build confidence in their skills. It is most important that these young players have fun as they are exposed to the sport.
This program availability is dependent on interest determined each season.
The primary goal is to have fun! Players will develop basic skills in catching, throwing and retrieving ground balls. Coaches will strive to help players develop a rudimentary understanding of the game, try out all positions and learn how to work together as a team. It is most important that young players have fun as they are exposed to the sport. Games are played on a smaller field setup with full-size goals.

Players will develop basic skills in catching, throwing, retrieving ground balls, shooting, and develop a rudimentary understanding of the game and how to work together as a team. It is most important that these young players have fun as they are exposed to the sport. Coaches will provide each participant with the opportunity to be better players today than yesterday. They teach players how to play lacrosse, but also how to honor the game and take away a few life lessons as well. A competitive team and a developmental team may be formed.
All players will get playing time, but it may not be equal. This is dependent on skill level of the player, playing conditions, health of players, and attendance at practices. The 5/6 program bridges the developmental play and competitive experience. As players quickly develop improved stick skills, the play of the game is much faster and requires multiple substitutions as the game situation requires.
5/6 practices twice a week.
The 7/8 grade program is a competitive experience and offers a significantly higher level of play. Players are expected to have more fully developed stick skills and a more sophisticated understanding of game techniques and strategies. New players are welcome!

7/8 practices three times a week.
The move into High School Lacrosse marks an exciting transition from the primarily instructional focus of middle school leagues to a more competitive team environment. At this level, playing time is not guaranteed; it is earned based on skill, effort, team needs, and at the coaches’ discretion.
The regular season runs from late February through June, with practices held Monday through Friday evenings. Preseason captain-led practices and conditioning sessions will begin earlier.
All players must have a current physical on file prior to the start of the regular season. Games are played through WHSBLA (Washington HS League).
